Group Account Director

The job:

We are looking for a Group Account Director with a strong background in managing data-driven, integrated campaigns in the tech space to oversee one of Swirl’s largest, fully integrated tech accounts. This is a great opportunity to work with a client that truly values innovation in marketing, and consistently looks to Swirl to help them push boundaries. Touching data-driven media, dynamic creative, brand awareness, demand gen, web development and everything in between, the Group Account Director will play a critical role in continuing to grow the client relationship and Swirl’s presence in the tech space, while seamlessly managing projects and internal teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for the lead client representatives, helping the Account and Swirl team guide the client through Swirl processes.
  • Work on the development of overall planning and strategy for the client’s business, including cost accounting for monthly retainer budget, understanding of targets, competitive analysis, situation analyses, synthesizing secondary research, and understanding and recommendations for primary points of connection with target.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge about current industry news and trends, namely in the tech space.
  • Lead key client meetings and ensure feedback and client concerns are spelled out clearly for Creative Leads and Producers.
  • Collaborate frequently with Strategy, Media, Creative, Tech, Product, and Production Leads assigned to account to assist in producing the most effective work.
  • Participate in the development and authoring of creative briefs. Communicate industry and client insights that will assist in the development of creative.
  • Conduct campaign analyses and ROI analyses in collaboration with the Media, Biddable, and Analytics teams to assess success and inform optimization of future recommendations.
  • Leverage involvement of agency executive and leadership team as appropriate.
  • Lead the organic growth of clients’ business for the agency.
  • Develop case studies after completion of projects.
  • Exhibit leadership within the Account team, helping to foster positive team dynamics and effective team norms. Help guide AAE through Management Supervisor level team members, setting them up for a successful future that reflects the overall agencies objectives.


We’re looking for people with:

  • 10+ years of experience in advertising and marketing
  • A deep understanding and passion for integrated marketing; experience in digital and tech preferred
  • Experience using marketing automation and analytics tools (Oracle Marketing Cloud, Adobe Marketing Cloud, Salesforce, etc)
  • Proficiency and strategic thought leadership in digital media and web development
  • Comfort working in highly flexible, entrepreneurial environments
  • Proven success managing cross-functional teams
  • Leadership, interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • Strong command of MS Office Suite, Mac/PC fluency required
